Comfort Problems We See in Greater Phoenix
Hard Water:
Greater Phoenix’s water is known for its heavy concentration of calcium and magnesium, which can scale plumbing and restrict water flow. This can lead to early water heater demise.
Slab Leaks:
Many pre-1980s homes were built with galvanized steel or copper plumbing underneath concrete foundations. These can develop pinhole leaks from shifting desert soil and hard water, resulting in damp floors or even cracks in your foundation.
Thermal Expansion:
The intense Arizona heat can cause metal and plastic pipes to expand and contract. As a result, the pipe’s joints can loosen and crack, leading to leaks.
Extreme Heat:
Our state’s intense heat puts significant strain on air conditioning systems. An overworked AC system can struggle to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures and wear down internal components.
Dust and Dry Conditions:
Greater Phoenix’s dry climate and dusty conditions can contribute to dust buildup in HVAC filters, coils, and ductwork. Restricted airflow can make your system work harder and may reduce cooling performance.
Aging HVAC Systems:
Many homes in Greater Phoenix were built before modern energy-efficiency standards. Older insulation, windows, ductwork, and HVAC equipment can make it harder to keep indoor temperatures comfortable, particularly during Greater Phoenix's hottest months.
